Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful early 20th century antique tiger oak double door bookcase / china cabinet.

The cabinet was made by the Blanchard Hamilton Furniture Company of Shelbyville, Indiana. The company was founded in the late 19th century and made furniture of all types until they shut their doors in the early years of the Great Depression.

The cabinet retains its original paper tag and was made for a client in Fall River, MA. The bookcase is exceptionally clean and finished in a beautiful golden oak color. The cabinet maker made good use of the tiger oak grain and reserved the pieces with the boldest rays and flecks for the vertical columns and the doors. The cabinet retains its old original wavy glass and has three shelves at a fixed height as you can see in our 10th picture.

These shelf supports can be easily removed and the shelf pin holes can be used so the shelves can adjust to varying heights. The previous owner held a uniform size encyclopedia set in this but if your library is like ours, and contains books of all different sizes, adjustable shelves are a must have. The cabinet has 14 different shelf pin holes each spaced 1/2 apart. The bookcase measures 39 1/2 wide x 14 deep x 55 3/4 tall. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. We have a large inventory of fine antiques ranging from Early American, Federal, Chippendale, Empire, Centennial, Victorian, 20th Century custom mahogany, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern antique furniture along with decorative arts from across the globe. All the items we offer to the general public are high quality estate pieces. We do not offer goods with significant flaws or defects. We completely avoid items with issues.

You can expect the items we sell to have reasonable wear and tear. Due to the large volume of goods we deal in we cannot describe items in minutia. We do our best to give you an accurate condition report in our description of the items. We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer. We represent all merchandise in absolute good faith and to the very best of our ability.

We perform this service without the cost of labor as an appreciation for your patronage.

We can get you special services in certain cases, but you are responsible for telling us you require them and for the extra cost of these services, if you instruct our shippers to provide services beyond curbside deliveries. We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. Again the process is all designed to protect your investment and is an option offered for your protection.

We dont like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility. We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period.
