I have up for sale a wonderful antique / vintage original circa 1930 Quarter Sawn / Tiger Oak Swivel Office / Desk Chair. Made by the JOHNSON CHAIR CO Chicago , Illinois and named the POS-CHAIR. The chair is exceedingly well constructed , quarter sawn oak with metal adjusting / swivel mechanism.

You will not find another as well made. I have dealt in antiques for 30+ years and personally I have not seen another so well made. The seat is shaped approx 1-3/4 thick.

The mechanism adjusts fro height , has adjustments for the backrest and the amount of tension. It swivels and retains what I believe are the original castors. I weigh a bit over 200 lbs and the chair easily supports me. There are 3 adjustments , each has a big letter J on the cast iron handle.

The chair retains the original leather on the front of the seat. I even have the old original cushion, its worn with some rips and cracks but its usable.

The chair in its highest position stands approx 34-1/2 tall at the top of the backrest. The seat measures approx 17" across and measures approx 19" to the seat from the ground. The seat as stated is approx 1-3/4 thick and if you look close, you can see its shaped. I will remove the backrest portion to make it easier to package. When I package I will remove the castors and turn the seat down to its lowest height position.

Because of the odd size, I will need to special a box. This will take between 3 & 5 days to get made and picked up. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics.

SAVE THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING , PICS OF THE OUTER BOX AND INNER BOX , AND OF THE DAMAGED ITEM WOULD BE REQUIRED. THIS IS PART OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT COMES TO DAMAGE. I PACKAGE TO THE VERY BEST OF MY ABILITIES BUT SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN THAT ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL.
