Antique Orig Finish Tiger Oak Side by Side Secretary Desk Curio Bookcase c1900

  

I have up for sale a gorgeous antique / vintage original circa 1890s to early 1900s Quarter Sawn Oak - Dark Factory Finish - Side by Side Secretary Desk manufactured by the Rockford Furniture Co. I have had a ton of Oak Side by Side Secretary Desks over the years and I do not think that I have seen this particular curio type upper section before. Rockford made quality furniture that has style suitable for any collector of American Oak Furniture.

The piece stands approx 75-3/8 tall at the apex of the upper crest / decorative top board. Its approx 41-1/2" across the top board, and roughly 14-1/2" or so deep including the claw feet.

This is a very stylish piece featuring scroll saw cut out fretwork type wood pieces in small cabinet doors. Has two beveled glass sections and very decorative nicely detailed fancy wood work and router carvings. The desk part has the interior pigeon hole setup. I oiled the piece with some Howard's Restore A Finish , let it dry , then went over it with bee's wax.

Condition Wise its in Very Good to Excellent Condition , has a couple very minor imperfections but considering the age and such , its in Great Shape. The left side has an area where the finish was sanded out and its lighter than the rest. This is something that could be darkened and you would never no the better. The right side finish is a not quite as good as the rest of the piece but its not bad, just a little more worn from the sun or what ever.
