Antique Tiger Oak Dining Room High Back Chairs Lot of 5

  

Nice set of refinished American, formal dining room chairs in solid quarter-sawn oak. Nice high backs and spindles. Seats, pads, batting, cushioning, were replaced and recovered several years ago, and there is no horsehair. The chairs were stripped, re-glued and refinished.

They were not broken or damaged and all the spindles are original and none are missing. There are no surface scratches on the wood.

The seat pads are secured to the chairs with 4 screws and the upholstery can easily be changed by removing the pads from the seats, removing the fabric and replacing with the fabric of your choice by using a staple gun. Bottom of chair legs have fabric pads to protect your floor surface.

This is a matched set of 5 chairs. One arm chair and 4 side chairs and they are in very good condition as we only use the dining room on holidays. Chairs probably date to sometime before 1920. The finish is a medium color and is neither light or dark, so they should blend in with most other tables, accent furniture etc. These are 100 year old refinished formal chairs and they are not brand new.
