The wood on this piece is beautiful tiger oak sometimes referred to quarter sawn. Top is solid tiger oak and not a veneer. Pressed carving on all four sides. Knees of the legs have a little decoration to them.

Bottom stretcher shelf is nice that has a pretty shape that is more than a simple rectangle. The shape of the bottom shelf also makes it easier to sit underneath. This is an original piece not a later reproduction. It dates from the early 1900's. It was professionally refinished about 5 to 10 years ago.

Does show several older repairs typical on a piece that is over 100 years old. The wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age. There are reflections in the photographs. Dont miss out on this really wonderful item!
