The understated design is simple yet ingenious utilising Simpson's superb craftsmanship skills. The rear hinged ratchet mechanism for adjusting the mirror angle encompasses Simpsons ideologies of design and engineering in wood and utilises his ebony biscuit tenon jointing methods which are often emulated by leading craftsmen today. The abstract Chinese symbolism shown in the top rail makes this a most uncommon and rare example.
Size: 61.5cm high x 46cm wide. Condition: In excellent untouched sturdy condition, there is an inconsequential minor split to the rear backing panel of the bevelled mirror plate mentioned for complete accuracy. It retains its original bevelled glass mirror plate which is also in excellent condition.
