C1900 Outstanding Large WIDE ROYCROFT SOLID TIGER OAK Mission Arts Crafts Frame

  

This is an outstanding c1900 solid quarter sawn tiger oak mission arts/crafts frame. This is possibly a Roycroft frame (as they used this construction style) but i could find no mark. Beautiful 4 wide solid tiger oak with what looks to be the original surface and solid lap joint construction with corner backing screws.

This is not dark fumed, nor is it golden in finish, but more a medium honey tone with great patina. Note most of the paper has been removed from the backing after the picture was taken. Measures 22 1/2 x 27 1/2 with a 15 1/4 x 20 1/4 rabbet. A tough find of a fantastic, high quality period arts & crafts/mission frame perfect for a woodblock, watercolor or painting.
