Over the years, the rich oak has developed a lovely patina, which has helped flesh out the natural beauty of the wood. As a result, the tiger oak displays a distinguished complexion and a highly pronounced grain, true to its exotic namesake. Overall this table remains very sturdy: the thick, hand-carved barley twist legs remain as sturdy as they are elegant, and the leaves continue to pull in and out very smoothly, providing a convenient expansion of surface area from 49 x 42 to 84 x 42.

It is a very sturdy table, supported by the x-frame stretcher connecting the legs. The term pub table was coined as square draw leaf tables like this are a mainstay of the English pub.
