FIRELESS COOK STOVE (Tiger oak)

  

COOK STOVE MADE BY THE TOLEDO COOKER CO OF TOLEDO OHIO, (15"H 27"W 15D) THIS FAMILY VINTAGE COOKER WAS USED BY MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER IN THE 1920'S AND HAS BEEN USED AS A COFFEE TABLE SINCE 1950. This is a two chamber wooden insulated box that was called a fireless cook stove. (the name Chambers Stove was also a generic name).

With this type of cooker the comparments are lined and the packing is completely covered with metal. This type also has a soapstone type of material in a disk underneath and over top of each kettle. These radiators are heated in the oven or on top of the stove while the food is heating. (BUT IT IS NOW USED AS A COFFEE TABLE).
