This beautiful American Empire library table features two drawers, one on each long side, a rare feature usually not found on library tables of this period. It has a shaped top, rising on a substantial double barrel pedestal base, animal paw & claw feet, resting on castors.
Likely made in the Northeast United States. Distressed / worn appearance, full of character from heavy use/wear/tear at UT Austin.I was told by the asset manager it has been in use around the school for around a century and spent years in the law library. Approx 48" Long x 27" Deep x 30 High. Good, original, unrestored, antique condition with tons of character and a wonderful patina. Highly desirable worn, distressed appearance from over a century of wear/tear. Imperfections consistent with age and use in a University.
