19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE NEW YORK VICTORIAN TIGER OAK PARLOR TABLE - THOMAS BROOKS. Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients. With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique Victorian Tiger Oak parlor table by Thomas Brooks.

Thomas brooks was a prolific institutional level cabinet maker working in New York City at the height of the Victorian period. Brooks' warehouse was on Fulton st in Brooklyn and he's one of the most celebrated cabinet makers of the time sharing a market with Belter, Meeks, & many others. As the 19th century progressed, New York City pulled ahead as America's most innovative city for cabinet making and reigned supreme until the turn of 20th century when furniture companies moved into Western NY & Grand Rapids. The table is extremely well built and crafted from solid Tiger Oak. The table has shallow incised carvings along the lower shelf and carved stylized Acanthus leaves at each corner.

These stylized Acanthus leaf carvings were a popular motif in Brooks' shop and are a nice take on a traditional design without sacrificing the clean aesthetics. The tabletop has a beveled edge and bold tiger stripe grain. The table is in fantastic condition with our only notes being light wear to the top. The table measures 30" wide x 29" deep x 27 3/4 tall. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. We have a large inventory of fine antiques ranging from Early American, Federal, Chippendale, Empire, Centennial, Victorian, 20th Century custom mahogany, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern antique furniture along with decorative arts from across the globe. All the items we offer to the general public are high quality estate pieces.

We do not offer goods with significant flaws or defects. We completely avoid items with issues. You can expect the items we sell to have reasonable wear and tear. Due to the large volume of goods we deal in we cannot describe items in minutia.

We do our best to give you an accurate condition report in our description of the items. We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer. We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. Again the process is all designed to protect your investment and is an option offered for your protection.

We don't like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility. We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period. We have a zero tolerance policy for non-paying buyers.
