With our highest compliments we're pleased to offer for sale this absolutely wonderful early tiger oak revolving bookcase by the John Danner co. John Danner patented his design in 1876 and they were offered in a few select varieties. The entire oak structure is suspended a top a central inner column.

Similar "lazy susan" designs were available at the time but Danner's bookcases were crafted much better with a single pivot point supporting the bookcase giving the easiest operation. John Danner said These cases, with their immense load, revolve with a slight touch of the hand; are noiseless in operation, and will last a lifetime. This is Danner's Champion 3 bookcase with the number after the design name notating how many sections it would have.

In the advert Danner states "nos 5, 6, & 7 are made as fast as ordered" but they must not have been special ordered too often because there aren't many out there. We handled an 8 tier years & years ago and it was comically large.

The bookcase is in great condition with our only notes being minor surface wear and a few missing decorative brass tacks. The bookcase is signed by Danner on the column with patent dates of 1876 & 1877 and the bookcase retains its original iron & wood base. The bookcase measures 20" wide x 20" deep x 46 tall. The shelves have useable dimensions of 10 1/2" wide x 7" deep. The height of each shelf varies slightly with the bottom section having a useable height of 11 3/4" tall and the other two having useable heights of 10 1/4" tall. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer. We represent all merchandise in absolute good faith and to the very best of our ability. We deliver within a 250 mile range of zip code 01105 for a low cost flat rate. We specialize in New York City and Boston deliveries at extremely reasonable rates. We perform this service without the cost of labor as an appreciation for your patronage. This and our "volume shippers" discount creates a substantial lower cost for you. They are not furniture movers who bring the items into your home. We can get you special services in certain cases, but you are responsible for telling us you require them and for the extra cost of these services, if you instruct our shippers to provide services beyond curbside deliveries.

We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. Again the process is all designed to protect your investment and is an option offered for your protection. We don't like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility. We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period.
