With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique Victorian Tiger Oak map file. This is without a doubt one of the best & earliest flat files we've had the pleasure of offering in years, and we are thrilled to present this to our clients around the world. The cabinet is extremely well made and has paneled sides and 10 drawers.

The drawers have useable dimensions of 36 1/2" wide x 19 1/4" deep with varying heights. The top two drawers have 2" of useable height, drawers 3 & 4 have 2 1/2" of useable height, drawer 5 has 2 3/4", drawer 6 has 3", drawers 7 & 8 have 3 1/2", and drawers 9 & 10 have 4" of useable height. The drawers retain all of their original hardware with the exception of one backplate on the bottom drawer. The cabinet has an attractive grain layout and is finished in a beautiful amber Oak color.

The finish appears to be original, and the cabinet is in very good condition with our only notes being a slight discoloration towards the bottom apron and minor surface wear. The shaped apron is a nice embellishment and is something you never find on the later 20th century examples. The previous owners used this in their print shop and before it was owned by them it belonged to their parents who were from the Hartford area. We skimmed through a few furniture catalogs from the period but weren't able to find this cabinet in any of our publications. We've never handled or even seen a cabinet quite like this throughout our careers and are sure it will be a while before we find another, even with our incredible volume. The overall dimensions of the cabinet are 43" wide x 23 1/8" deep x 50 1/4 tall. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation. We have a large inventory of fine antiques ranging from Early American, Federal, Chippendale, Empire, Centennial, Victorian, 20th Century custom mahogany, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern antique furniture along with decorative arts from across the globe. All the items we offer to the general public are high quality estate pieces. We do not offer goods with significant flaws or defects. We completely avoid items with issues. You can expect the items we sell to have reasonable wear and tear.

Due to the large volume of goods we deal in we cannot describe items in minutia. We do our best to give you an accurate condition report in our description of the items. We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer. We represent all merchandise in absolute good faith and to the very best of our ability. We deliver within a 250 mile range of zip code 01105 for a low cost flat rate. We specialize in New York City and Boston deliveries at extremely reasonable rates. We perform this service without the cost of labor as an appreciation for your patronage. This and our "volume shippers" discount creates a substantial lower cost for you.

They are not furniture movers who bring the items into your home. We can get you special services in certain cases, but you are responsible for telling us you require them and for the extra cost of these services, if you instruct our shippers to provide services beyond curbside deliveries. We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. We don't like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility.
