We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic early 20th century antique Arts & Crafts Tiger Oak double door bookcase / China cabinet. Larkin started as a soap company in Buffalo NY and would include free furniture with large soap orders and eventually became a smaller version of Sears Roebuck with an extensive catalog just like Amazon.

Unlike Amazon, Larkin manufactured most of their products in large factories in Buffalo and employed a large amount of people. The bookcase retains its original wavy glass doors and has 4 adjustable shelves that can accommodate a large library. The bookcase does still have its original lock, but this didn't come to us with a key. We have a large stockpile of antique keys and we'll be sure to match one up. The bookcase is in great condition with our only notes being a missing escutcheon, wear to the top, light wear on the bottom baseboard, and a few dry spots in the finish on the right side. This is probably the original surface, and it has developed a desirable crackling or "alligatoring" effect. This can be best seen around the doors and on the vertical stiles.

The bookcase measures 39 1/2" wide x 13 1/2" deep x 54 1/2 tall. The interior has useable dimensions of 36" wide x 10 1/2" deep x 48 1/2 tall. Each shelf has 3 different height adjustments spaced roughly 2 apart. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation.

You can expect the items we sell to have reasonable wear and tear. Due to the large volume of goods we deal in we cannot describe items in minutia. We do our best to give you an accurate condition report in our description of the items. We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer.

We represent all merchandise in absolute good faith and to the very best of our ability. We deliver within a 250 mile range of zip code 01105 for a low cost flat rate. We specialize in New York City and Boston deliveries at extremely reasonable rates. We perform this service without the cost of labor as an appreciation for your patronage.

This and our "volume shippers" discount creates a substantial lower cost for you. They are not furniture movers who bring the items into your home. We can get you special services in certain cases, but you are responsible for telling us you require them and for the extra cost of these services, if you instruct our shippers to provide services beyond curbside deliveries.

We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. Again the process is all designed to protect your investment and is an option offered for your protection. We don't like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility.

We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period. We have a zero tolerance policy for non-paying buyers.
