EARLY 20TH CENTURY ANTIQUE TIGER OAK GLOBE WERNICKE STACKING BARRISTER BOOKCASE. Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic early 20th century antique Arts & Crafts Tiger Oak Globe Wernicke barrister bookcase. The Globe File Company was founded in the 1880's and merged with the Wernicke company to become Globe Wernicke around the turn of the 20th century. These bookcases are especially nice for people living in spatially restrictive cities. The base and the bottom two sections are "E's" which were the deepest standard sections GW offered.

The top two sections are "D's" which are just slightly shallower and give the bookcase a nice step back effect. The doors actuate with ease, and all retain their original wavy glass. All but one section are grade 299 with the other being grade 298 1/2. Both grades are Quarter Sawn Oak, but 299 is a Golden Oak Finish and 298 1/2 is an Antique Oak finish. The color discrepancy is barely noticeable, but we wanted to point it out anyways.

The bookcase is in fantastic condition with our only notes being minimal surface wear. The bookcase measures 34" wide x 14" deep x 71 1/4 tall. We are a wholly owned family business in our third decade of continuous operation.

We have expert woodworkers and re-finishers on staff to service any piece of furniture we offer. We represent all merchandise in absolute good faith and to the very best of our ability.

We perform this service without the cost of labor as an appreciation for your patronage. This and our "volume shippers" discount creates a substantial lower cost for you. They are not furniture movers who bring the items into your home. We can get you special services in certain cases, but you are responsible for telling us you require them and for the extra cost of these services, if you instruct our shippers to provide services beyond curbside deliveries. We are responsible for any additional services and charged for these services. We don't like to send nice people off with things tied to roof racks. We are not a storage facility. We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period.
