Beautiful, and rare quarter-sawn golden tiger oak stacking barrister bookcase secretary from the mid 1890's. This piece dates from the earliest days of barrister bookcases when they were mounted on wheels like this one has. This bookcase secretary is comprised of 5 stacking pieces. We start at the bottom with the base on wheels with a slide out drawer.That drawer is 4" tall, 13" deep front to back and 32 wide from left to right. Next up is an oversized glass doored book section that is 13" tall for for book clearance underneath the door, 13 5/8" deep front to back with the door in the closed position and 32 wide from left to right. Next up comes the desk section with a slide out drawer below it that is 3 1/2" tall, 31" wide from right to left 13 1/2 deep front to back. There is a lock on the desk door but no key.
The desk section is 31 tall when the door is in the open position to the ground. The inside of the desk section when the door is closed is 10 1/8 deep front to back.
The interior of the desk section is 32 wide from right to left. The overall height inside the desk section is 14 tall. The two small interior drawers are 5 3/4" wide left to right and 7 1/2" deep front to back and 1 1/2 tall. Above the desk section is the upper glass doored book section which is 11" tall clearance for books when the door is open, 10 1/8" deep front to back and 32 wide from left to right. Finally at the top is the cap or crown.This barrister secretary is available for local pick-up. I can store this until your shipper could pick it up.
