Antique QUARTERSAWN TIGER OAK 299 GLOBE WERNICKE BARRISTER STACKING BOOKCASE

  
Beautiful Globe Wernicke quartersawn tiger oak stacking barrister bookcase dating to about 1910. This bookcase is comprised of 6 stacking pieces. There is the base followed by 4 window sections and the top cap.

Two of the glass door sections are 10 1/2" tall and the other two are 8 1/2" tall. All of the sections are 9 1/2 deep inside giving you flexibility for your book or collectible storage. Overall this bookcase is 55 3/4" tall, 34 1/4" wide and 12 3/4 deep at the base.

This style of barrister is called either the Ogee, or Waterfall front variety. This barrister also has the metal side bands which were used to "lock" bookcases together in law offices. The insides have the metal "scissors" or "equalizers" making the doors slide effortlessly and to prevent binding. With the fabulous tiger oak graining of the wood this bookcase deserves to stand alone in a room so that the sides can be seen and appreciated. I have also had customers return for a second bookcase. This bookcase is available for local pick-up. I have delivered bookcases as far north as Connecticut and as far south as Northern Virginia.
