Extremely nice antique circa 1920 Hale quartersawn golden tiger oak stacking barrister bookcase. These bookcases are also known as sectional or lawyer's bookcases since they were used to hold law books in offices. Hale started building these barrister bookcases in 1907 and to my knowledge is the only one of these company's from the early 1900's STILL in business building these bookcases today in New York State.
This six piece stacking bookcase is a whopping 67 3/4" tall with large 14" tall book sections. It is 34 1/4" wide and 11 1/2" deep outside including the door pulls. All of the book sections are 9 1/2" deep and 12 1/4" tall inside. There are 6 pieces in total. We start with the four legged base followed by 4 window sections and topped off with the cap. This stackability makes these bookcases easy to transport. All doors open and slide effortlessly. I have also had customers come back for a second bookcase. This bookcase is for local pick-up. If you do not see the type of bookcase you want contact me and I may be able to find what you need.
