Antique Tiger Oak Tantalus with 3 Decanters

  
First on the list is an antique Tantalus with it's three original glass decanters with lids. Not only that, but it has a key so that it's not just decoration but a useful antique that can be used day to day. I don't know the exact age of this but it is old. It was my grandmother's grandmother's so I'm estimating from the 1890s to early 1900s. Please see pictures but the mechanism for the Tantalus is a small screw hidden in the handle that operates in that the key allows the handle to be slightly turned, allowing the decanters to be removed.

It is very ingenious and is completely hidden aside from the key hole. It is in absolutely beautiful condition with only some wear on the decorative metal pieces affixed to the piece. Dimensions are 13.5" x 5" x 11.5.

The bottles body is 3 on either side. Overall, a beautifully elegant piece that would look fine in your antique buffet or bar setup. Forgot to mention, the nuts holding on to the handle are not original and are modern replacements and was like this when I got it. Given the value and fragility of this item, it will be "overpacked" with bubbles, peanuts and whatever else will make this reach you safely so even though these are light on their own, upon packing, they can become quite weighty.
