Antique Victorian Quartersawn Tiger Oak HALL BENCH + Storage & Wheels

  
Spectacular quartersawn tiger oak, antique 1890's Victorian hall bench with wheels and storage underneath the seat. I came around the corner of the home this was for sale in and saw this bench and my mouth dropped open. WOW, was all I could say! Please look at all the pictures highlighting the vibrant tiger oak. You can even see the tiger graining on the BACK of this bench. From left to right this bench is 56 5/8 wide. The height to the top of the back rest is 37 3/4 tall. The overall depth from front to back is 20 1/8 deep which is mainly for the feet sticking out. The depth of the seat from front to back is 17" When seated on the bench the back height is 24" tall.

If the bench would be placed on tile or hardwood floors it will roll easily. If placed on carpet I would recommend carpet protector's since the wheels would dig into the carpet and make it a bit harder to roll. The back rest on both sides of the central design is a repeating scroll.

The central design in the center of the back rest is a raised simple horizontal pyramid shape. On the front panel of the seating area is a central leaf decoration with an outer edge which reminds of metal hinges in design.

The end panels of the seat area have the same foliate central design in a squared framework with curved design outside the central floral area. Unlike some of the heavily carved European hall bench's (which are usually plain oak) this bench has a restrained design allowing the beautiful tiger graining to come to the forefront. This bench is available for local pick-up. I may also need some help on the other end as well.
