Beautiful Arts and crafts mission transitional Tiger oak desk. It has a rectangular molded top above a frieze drawer and kneehole recess flanked by slats and vase shaped splats with applied motifs, the sides with shelves, on chamfered baluster supports joined by an H-shaped stretcher and ending in turned feet. The vase shaped splats are reminiscent of eighteenth century seat furniture chair backs whilst the form of the legs can first be seen in William and Mary furniture. It is therefore an eclectic and decorative piece. The oak portrays its distinctive golden medullary rays within the grain and the striped appearance provides the tiger oak terminology.

This is a truely beautiful piece in excellent condition with just minor wear to the finish. Height is 30 inch; Length 43 inch; Depth 25 inch.
