Behind the cabinet door you can see where the drawers used to be. Each drawer holds 65 spools, 1" x 1-1/4".
I replaced the glass and the metal corners on the right side of each drawer. I could not find origional steel corners so I made some from tin. They are ok but it would be nice to find steel corners. The cabinet measures approximately 24 inch tall.I believe there is missing trim on the top the cabinet it should measure 25. The cabinet measures approximately 38" wide and 17-3/8" deep. There is an old Belding Bros tag on the back. It is recognizable but it is very fragile.
There is writing on the inside of door with mirror. I think someone tried to document the cabinets history. I can read what looks like g. The rest is harder to read although one date looks like 1914. There are 35 Belding thread spools displayed in the front of the cabinet. They are included with cabinet. I love the colorful display. The cabinet is in pretty good shape but it shows its age. There are scuffs, stains and marks.
The glass has some clouding. The inside center area has stains.Maybe dye was stored here. If you want them, let me know. For 30.00 I will box the cabinet up and drop off at Longview Greyhound station. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Sewing (1930-Now)\Spools & Thread".
