Antique Quarter-Sawn Tiger Oak Looking Glass Mirror. Heres a really attractive antique find! This rectangular looking glass mirror features a thick frame of beautiful, vesicular quarter-sawn oak around the antique, back-silvered mirror! Thick veins of black contrast nicely with the dark oak and warm patina, giving the mirror a wild appearance. This mirror is thick, heavy, and substantive. The mirror was likely produced in the mid to late 19.

The thick glass plate is coated with mercury on the back to give a dull, mirrored finish. The backing is corrugated paper; it is unknown if this is original to the piece. The mirror hangs either by a notch in the back or by a nail.

This mirror is in EXCELLENT condition. As this is a preservation piece, no attempt to clean, repair, or alter the mirror was made. The original patina has been preserved. The mirror is slightly hazy, typical of an antique piece.

The wood has developed an amazing, thick, even patina, and shows no major damage, flaw, or repair. This is a fantastic, all original piece!
