Stickley Mission Furniture Settee Tiger Oak Slat back Early 1900's. From the last quarter of the 19th century into the 1920's tiger oak was quite popular and produced throughout.
Tiger oak comes from quarter sawn oak that reveals the growth rings of the wood. Settee has damage on arms and top corners (See Photos). There was no seat in it when I got it, so I built a wood bottom with foam padding.
Has been refurbished and upholstered, and finished off with an oak stain and polyurethane coat. Settee is 61" long, 37" tall and 26 front to back. Original purchaser said it was a Stickley, but it does not have any markings on the wood. Could have had a sticker on the bottom, but did not have a bottom when I acquired them.
