Victorian American Oak Quarter Sawn Tall Fireplace Mantel with Columns Restored LA. We are proud to offer an extremely nice estate furniture.

It is simple, elegant, and classic all rolled into one. We specialized in fireplace mantels for decades. This is probably the nicest that we've ever owned. The wood is outstanding tiger oak. Each extra beefy column is topped by a ornate wood carved capital design.

Large columns are wider on the bottom and narrower on the top to visually give an even taller look. Boxed out shelves below and above the mirror have vertically curved front and sides. The wood around the mirror is also rounded towards it.

Unusual bowed detail is above the fireplace opening. Beautiful carving at the base and top corners. This is an original piece not a later reproduction which has been re-glued & refinished. We find since fireplace mantels are near a fire and get the draft from the chimney, they usually need to be re-glued after 100 + years. It dates from the 1890s to early 1900s.

This has a nice large fireplace opening to be adaptable to modern construction. You can add additional oak flat oak pieces to the sides to make it wider. Length - 59 7/8 inch. Height - 90 3/8 inch. Width - about 13 3/4 inch. Length - 41 1/2 inch. Height - 38 3/4 inch. It was professionally refinished about 5 to 10 years ago.

The wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age. We refinish our items so they do show that it is an antique and not perfect.
