Beautiful Victorian Five Leg Table comes with 5 leaves and 6 press back cane seat chairs. This table has been in my family for over 100 years. It is more like late 1800. It was my great grandmothers.
For years it was stored in Wisconsin in my great uncles attic, insuring that it was pristine. Other then just aged dust it was in great shape when we got it down. The skirt or apron of the table is beautifully carved and unique. The 5 legs are bulbous and also, very nicely carved. It comes with 5 leaves and makes into a HUGE family table, which will easily hold three people per side. The style of leaves for a table of the time was strictly utilitarian. They are not like today's leaves.
They do not have the apron/skirt because a table in the late 1800's and early 1900's was never set without a table cloth. Thus no need to be "fancy". But much easier to store. You can see the 5 leaves leaning against the table. The table has 6 press back cane chairs.
The chairs have got beautiful spindles with cane seats. I had them for quite a few years before I noticed two of the chairs were slightly different. Originally the table was bought, picking out (you had a choice of style chairs) four and then later two more were added.
The caning on the seats does need to be replaced. Luckily it is the sheet caning verses the woven in style that is needed. This table and chairs is made for your large or small family. 97.5 x 44 when the family comes or 44 x 44 when it's just you. Thank you for viewing, your table is waiting for you and your family.
